Teacher Overview

This 2-minute orientation video is specifically designed for you before you begin the Just Press Play program with your students. Dale speaks directly to you, thanking you for agreeing to facilitate this important financial literacy lesson. You'll understand his personal motivation, what began as a lesson for his own children evolved into a worldwide project helping young adults navigate "the most important ‘life’-decision they'll ever make."

Dale clarifies this isn't another boring lecture about budgeting. Instead, it focuses on one decision that could literally change your students' entire lives. He explains the program structure: First, show students Dale’s complete presentation (Video 2, 54 minutes). Hopefully, you can procure the book for each student, reading each short chapter prior to the next chapter’s study.  Then use the chapter module videos (Videos 3-12) where Dale hits the highlights, then you facilitate discussions using built-in questions.

Here's what makes this revolutionary: "We've made this easy to teach… Just press play." You don't need to be a financial expert or create lesson plans from scratch. Dale actually doesn’t want you to prepare…Press play, let Dale teach BOTH the students and you, then facilitate discussions. Your young adults have one decision ahead of them that most adults wish they could get back. You're potentially changing the trajectory of every student in your classroom for generations to come.

  • Action Items:

    Notes:

    • Remind yourself: you don't need to be a financial expert to facilitate this program.  Just SHOW UP… PRESS PLAY.
